Matt's Visit to the Gastroenterologist in San Diego

Matt was a real trooper today. Another 6 hours in the car, more bloodwork, more waiting... The doctor is switching him from Soy milk to Pediasure with Doucal drops. These both have lots of calories. If we can get him to drink 4 cans a day, the doctor says that should determine whether he is absorbing the calories or not. We will meet with a dietician and the physician's assistant to discuss his eating habits in a month as well as check his growth. He learned a new word on our drive - "rock". My favorite word lately is "Brrr".

Ben went to school today. He cried when I was leaving and wanted me to stay with him. Rrrr! He never does that. I guess it has been a while since I left him. The teacher told him he could be the line leader when they went outside to the playground. Everything was cool after that. Dan picked him up and called to tell me he got him only to realize they forgot his backpack. I could hear Ben yell, "Dad, you forgot my backpack!" Luckily, they hadn't left the parking lot. He told us all about his day at dinner. His descriptions of his classmates - the girl with the brown face, the girl with mickey mouse ears (she had pigtails)...

Dan went back to work with his squadron in Yuma today. He was very busy getting caught up. He did learn that his deployment to Japan should be from mid August to mid January.

I hope to get some pictures up soon.
