We left Georgia at 5:20 am on New Year's Day and drove 1,000 miles. Spent the night somewhere in Texas. We got up the next morning, drove 1,000 more miles and pulled into our driveway at midnight. The boys enjoyed playing with all of their toys that we had to leave at home while Papa and I worked on unloading the car. We all went to bed around 2 am. We all slept very well that night and the next night. Papa helped us unpack some more on Sunday and then flew home to Georgia on Monday afternoon.
I swear the next day Matt came home with a stomach bug. Four days later, Ben was puking. At first, I thought it was just Ben making himself throw up. So he walked out of the bathroom and asked if his pancakes were ready. I let him have breakfast. We waited an hour and a half. No puking, so I decided he could go to preschool. We drove there. I got him out of our car. I start to get Matt out, and Ben vomits all over the parking space next to us. Rebuckle Matt, wipe Ben's face, and reload him into car. Drove home. A little more vomit, a good nap, and nothing but fluids, club crackers, and a popsicle for the rest of the day.
Ben was up and running again the next day. So, he returned to preschool, even made it into the building. His teachers and classmates were so excited to have him back!
Matt was doing so well with his eating too. Him getting sick was pretty disappointing, but he's back to eating again.
We're all looking forward to Dan's homecoming which is scheduled for January 22nd. They're leaving Japan on the 20th. Dan will be flying the last leg from Hawaii to Yuma. I'm not really mentioning it to the boys, because I don't want to hear all of the questions from Ben (Is it time yet? Now? Is it Friday? How much longer? Why? When? *repeat those 1,000 times and you'll understand why I keep secrets). He gets really frustrated since he doesn't understand time. You also just never know what day it will really end up being - tanker scheduling issues, jets down, weather...
