Dan's Crazy Week!

I got a phone call Tuesday morning from a weird number, so I answer... Dan says, "I'm fine." I have only received emails from Dan since he was in Hawaii at the beginning of March, so his voice was not expected. After much confusion and the weird delay from talking to someone on the other side of the earth, I was able to understand that the Harrier jet that took off after Dan had some trouble during his takeoff forcing him (not Dan) to eject. Dan didn't see it happen. He was already up flying around. That pilot is a good friend of Dan's, and he is fine thankfully. He was rescued from the water, and he was able to walk away from it! The ship was just in port in Oman, and Dan was able to get off the ship and enjoy some good food, beach time, and a break from work! He tried to find a place to skype with us, but he says Oman is not the technology hub of the world. Bummer! Hopefully next time will be a better place! Abbie and Clair have changed so much, and Ben and Matt always have great questions for him. They're still stuck on what animals Dan has eaten. I did get to talk to Dan on the phone for about 15 minutes. Both Ben and Matt were also able to say hello. He was asking Ben about Karate. We had a poor connection, but it was nice to hear his voice. He sounds well and seems to be making the most of it! We received an email today congratulating Ben on his first soccer goal of the season. He scored during his game against Ireland this morning! I have no clue what the final score was, but he seems to be improving each week. Thanks Coach Amber!
