Ben loves Curious George lately. He has been telling Matt and me to "be a good little monkey." Whew - I finally figured out where that came from.
Today I took the boys to OEF care at the Child Development Center on base. I went to lunch with friends and then shopping. I got a phone call while shopping to come pick up the boys. The thunderstorm caused a power outage. While I was driving there, many of the roads were flooded. The parking lot was under water and there was a fire truck at the CDC. The fire alarm had gone off. Everyone was standing by the front door. A few kids including Ben were crying. He didn't like the alarm. There was no fire. I then carried both boys to the car, buckled them, weaved our way home (2 turn arounds due to road flooding), and picked up our spare dog, Roxy. So much for a break!
Dan was able to skype with us after dinner. It was our first successful video chat. Ben and Matt were both busy bodies making it difficult, but they were glad to show Daddy all of their new tricks. Ben showed him how he punches (Wii Boxing). Matt showed him how he can remove his own diaper and run and crash onto the dog's bed. Dan is doing well. He was finally able to leave the base yesterday after his liberty briefs and went to a sushi restaurant for dinner. He was hoping to take scuba diving lessons today, but he didn't think the classes he needed were offered until October.
Tomorrow should be a nice day at home for us with lots of cleaning to keep us busy. Hope everyone has a nice Labor Day!
