More from the Boys and Therapy Update

We heard some jets flying over our house the other day. Matt immediately froze into a moment of silence. Ben noticed too and said "Daddy's home." I quickly told him Daddy is still in Japan before he got too excited. Matt said, "bye-bye."

We went to the base today to drop Ben off at the CDC while we went to therapy. The gate guard saluted us and said, "Have a nice day." In the backseat, Ben said, "Thank you. Oohrah!" That's exactly what his Daddy says! Too funny. I think each day Dan is away, Ben tries to be more like him.

As far as therapy goes, we're currently working on building up Matt's tolerance to spinning. Everyday, we spend some time spinning Matt in our office chair. Also, I was telling Miss Ruth about how Matt will get his mouth really full of food and then he spits everything out. Once this happens, he will not take another bite. I feel like I constantly remind him to swallow before taking his next bite. We even open up our mouths at the table to see if he's ready for his next one. She called this pocketing. As Matt was eating his doughnut with her, she thought he gagged before spitting it all into my hand. Meal over!

I don't have to chart all of our meals anymore thankfully. That was a project. I will be tracking our spinning including rotation direction, head position, and reaction this week. Of course, we still practice rocking each day. Poor kid! I wonder how many times I tried to rock him to calm him down as a baby only to make him more miserable.
