Ultrasound

We had an ultrasound yesterday. The twins are doing great and growing evenly. They each weigh 2lbs, 6 oz. According to babycenter, they should be about 2lbs, 4oz for a singleton. Yay! Dan and I both left wondering what we just looked at. There were arms, legs, hands, heads, and stomachs everywhere! One baby is heads up, the other is heads down. He was not able to get a good picture of their faces. He said they're packed in there pretty tight.

It is no wonder I feel huge, and my back is hurting. I've gained 22.5 lbs in 5 months. I just measured my stomach from the top, past my flat belly button, to the bottom is 37.5 cm (14.75 in.). A singleton typically measures within a centimeter or two of the number of weeks. I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow (pregnant belly of a singleton would be 28 +/- 2 cm). The doctor usually measures it to be less than what I get. I think I was 32 cm at my 26 week appointment. I am 43.5 in. around what used to be my waist. I lost visual contact with my feet and belly button a long time ago. Dan has been laughing at me trying to reach things - putting on socks, tying my shoes, pulling up my pants, etc. It is pretty awkward these days. I almost sent Matt flying when I turned quickly and my belly wacked him in the head.

We have video from both of the ultrasounds; however, it isn't in a format that I can upload. I'm going to try to play it on our monitor and record it with our camera. We'll see if it works. I'm sure the quality will be pretty bad, but it might be fun to see.
