Georgia

We finally made it to Georgia - 2,000 miles later. We stopped in Pesos, TX at an ER to get Matt's thumb looked at. The top quarter of it was a huge blister. He had burned it on Wednesday, but that blister had popped later that evening. It was very sore Saturday morning. He kept holding it out so it would not touch anything. We decided to make sure everything was okay. The ER doctor thought it was the beginning of an infection, so he prescribed some antibiotics. It looked much better on Sunday and looks even better today! He'll get rechecked on Wednesday. Matt was great in the car, only fussing a little. He liked singing songs and repeating what Ben was saying. He's also into taking his shoes on and off, off and on... which is hard to do with a huge booboo on your thumb!

Ben was a real trooper considering he doesn't understand time or distance. He had a great time playing with Marilyn at her house. He enjoyed watching movies and doing his workbooks (dot to dots, mazes, preschool worksheets, etc.) while we were traveling. He's amazing at mazes! He's happy to be out of the car and in Georgia finally.

I got a quick email from Dan and our friends in Iwakuni. They had gone out to eat Sushi and showed him around the base. His squadron just moved from Kadena AB on the island of Okinawa to a marine base in Iwakuni (near Hiroshima on mainland Japan). He will be getting internet in his room on Wednesday. If you want to wish him a happy Thanksgiving, you can try to skype with him (Skype name - daniel.kinnecom) or send him an email at daniel.kinnecom@gmail.com. I think he'll either spend the holiday with his squadron or our friends from Meridian.
