Labor Day Weekend!

After Mimi arrived, we had a fun Labor Day weekend with Dan home. We went to Wetlands park where Dan helped the boys learn to play frisbee golf. Then they spent some time on the castle playground.

On Tuesday, I had a doctor's appointment. Dan was able to go with me and finally meet Dr. Vining. The twins both have strong heartbeats. I've gained 7 lbs in a month! I'm up to 26 lbs gained. Oh my. I asked the doctor what our goals are for delivering (thinking I might explode soon). He said we passed the first hurdle of 28 weeks. Most babies born after 28 weeks survive but may have some complications typical of premature babies. Our goal now is 32 weeks. Dr. Vining said the twins would probably spend a few days in the NICU, but would most likely be fine. He said 35 weeks would be the next goal where they would come home from the hospital with me. Our last goal is 37 weeks which is full term. Whew!

After the good news about the twins, Dan and I decided it would be fun to take Mimi and the boys on a float trip down the Colorado River. We've taken the short float before which means sit in the sun for 45 minutes on an intertube. There are no rapids, and in some places you can touch the ground while sitting in your intertube if you don't scrape bottom. I guess after the long weekend, the tubing company decided to take a day off. So, we went to Gateway Park where you start the float trip and just played along the beach. Dan and Ben would float down a little ways, then walk back, and do it again. Matt and Mimi tried to catch minnows along the edge of the river. I sat on the beach. We all had a fun time even though we didn't get to float down the river.
