Matt's Latest Doctor's Visit in San Diego

The Gastroenterologist wanted to followup with Matt since his endoscopy. The doctors and nurses were very pleased with his growth. He's measuring at the 35 percentile for weight and between the 50th and 75th for height. For a while, he was below the 3rd percentile on weight, so this improvement is great! About a month ago, we dropped one can (8 oz) of PediaSure. Next month, we'll drop another, so he'll only be taking one can a day! In January, the doctor wants to challenge Matt by weaning him from his Prevacid. This will take about a month. Assuming he responds well to this, he'll then have another endoscopy to make sure the inflammation doesn't return. Should be an exciting winter/spring with the twins and Matt. The doctor seems very flexible on all of this, so I'm sure we can change things if needed.

We made Matt's doctor's visit into a mini vacation with Aunt Amber and Ben. We drove over yesterday after my OB appt. (two healthy heartbeats, triple screen test came back normal, measuring 25 weeks at 21 weeks laying down, will monitor their growth using ultrasounds to make sure they're each growing about the same). We did some baby shopping in La Mesa. We now have two car seats, the pack n play, bedding, and a changing pad. The only things left are the crib, the BOB, clothes, and a diaper bag (Amber and I have been checking the Vera Bradley sales). Whew!

After shopping, we visited Coronado Island. We had a picnic on the beach, played in the sand, and then drove around a little. Wow, those houses are beautiful! Today, after Matt's appt., we went to the San Diego Zoo. My friend, Leslie, from high school came down from Camp Pendelton wtih her daughters. We all had a great time! Wish we would have had more time to see everything. Thankfully Aunt Amber was a huge help with all of the driving and keeping up with the boys at the crowded zoo. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow. I'm exhausted from our busy trip.
