Ben, Lucie, Matt, and Maddie
The next day I dropped the boys off at a friend's house and took the girls in to the vet. After waiting 30 minutes in the outdoor waiting room (REALLY - in Yuma) and playing with every dog or cat that went by, we were taken back. Maddie was great for the doctor. Lucie was good until it came time to draw blood for her heartworm test. Attempt number one ended with the female doctor being bucked off her back. Attempt number two required an addtional army guy (three people restraining her now) and a muzzle just in case but ended with the guy not being able to draw blood from the back leg. Attempt three - she's backed into a corner, the doctor is knocking on her head to distract her, and the needle malfunctions in her front leg. Attempt number four - more knocking - success! She even let all of them pet her and play with her before we left - no hard feelings. Even better - neither dog has heartworms!
