Update on the Boys

Matt has really grown up the last few weeks with the potty training. He hasn't quite mastered #2 considering he went in our yard today, but he's trying and doing great with #1! He has mastered colors and counts correctly when he isn't thinking about it. His new words are organized and disappeared. While helping Mimi find some new shoes at Sports Authority, he organized the shoe inserts by color and even told us he was doing so. He then told us something disappeared. Both boys now fight over petting Maddie, not sure why she is the chosen one. Matt likes to lay on Lucie too.

Ben is learning lots at school - songs, nursery rhymes, counting by 2's, writing, letter sounds, cutting, and gluing. He is working on some pretty cool projects this year. He usually starts the week with a case of the Mondays but walks right in by Wednesday. We're going to the park with some of his friends tomorrow. It should be a great opportunity for him to get to know some of his classmates outside of school. Maybe it'll make him more excited to go to school on Tuesday (he has Monday off for Columbus Day). Columbus was apparently a black man or at least that is the way Ben colored him. He still likes riding his big wheel, is pretty good at hitting a baseball (if you throw it right), and loves to play MarioKart on the Wii. Ben is also starting to recognize some small words, and if doesn't have them memorized, he tries to sound them out. He has a long way to go but loves it!

Ben and Dan both have 3 day weekends, so we're taking it easy so far. Mimi and I went on a short walk around the block. Dan is off climbing Telegraph Pass, trying to beat his last time. Might as well enjoy this now. Our lives will be inside outside upside down soon enough.

I hear the Playdoh tools flying, so I should go check on Matt. Hope everyone has a great Columbus Day weekend!
