Matt and I went to occupational therapy on Friday. The therapist looked at our food chart which compares Matt's likes and dislikes along with the texture, taste, color, smell and temperature. It was somewhat inconclusive for last week's meals. We'll keep trying. She did notice that Matt did not like to rock very long on a couple of the toys. After some discussion, she thinks Matt may have some inner ear issues that make him not want to eat - a sensory disorder caused by the vestibular system. We're going to look into it. He does not like to swing. He sometimes doesn't like jeep rides and sometimes seems to get sick in the car especially when we go to San Diego winding over the mountains. Key word - sometimes... Now after he finishes a meal, we're trying to rock for 20 minutes. I have been watching lots of Curious George. He won't rock for very long. This exercise may teach him to be more comfortable with this motion. It is not a pressure problem since flying doesn't bother him. Thank god - it could have been a horrible trip in June!
