We finally got to hear from Dan (at 5 am this morning) after a missed call and a short email. He left Hawaii and went to Wake Island for a night and Guam for a night due to being re-routed for weather. He went swimming in the Tumon Bay while in Guam. I'm hoping he's taking lots of pictures. The next day, he flew on the tanker to Kadena, Japan. Later that night, he caught a flight to Iwakuni! He's in Iwakuni for a week before going back to Kadena for a training exercise. He has a TV in his room (which is like a hotel room) and located across the street from the squadron. He bought some T-shirts and shorts because most of his clothes are in a bag in HI. He said most signs are in Japanese and English, but he hasn't left the base yet... He'll probably end up working this weekend, but hopefully he'll get a chance to try some local cuisine.
As for the rest of us, we've been keeping busy with swimming, dinner with friends, playgroups, playgrounds, Ford Service Department, refinancing our house... Tonight, the boys are going to the Child Development Center (CDC) while I go to the Olive Garden!
